Batucadinha!
Batucada Abrace, in partnership with Daniella Gramani, is opening a special space in Vancouver for children who want to discover the joy of drumming!
About Batucadinha
Batucadinha is a music education project created by Batucada Abrace in partnership with Daniella Gramani. It is aimed at children and their families, with the goal of creating moments of fun, learning, and connection through the practice of percussion.
The classes are designed as collective experiences where children and caregivers can play together, sing, play, and express themselves musically in a welcoming and safe environment. All percussion instruments are provided during the classes, allowing families to participate without needing to bring materials from home.
The classes are led by teacher Daniella Gramani, a percussionist and music educator, with the support of an assistant (Messias Gramani), ensuring attention, care, and support throughout the experience.
Batucadinha offers three different classes, designed to meet specific age ranges and educational needs:
-
Two classes for children aged 2 to 5 years, always accompanied by their caregivers:
-
One class is taught in Portuguese, focusing on introducing children to Brazilian culture by exploring traditional music, rhythms, and games.
-
The other group is exclusively for Queer Families . This class is taught in English and features music from different parts of the world. The main focus is on broad musical education, coexistence, and the creation of a safe and inclusive space, rather than specifically on Brazilian culture.
-
-
A class for older children, aged 6 to 15, taught in Portuguese and English, focusing on the practice of Brazilian rhythms, teamwork, and musical development through percussion.
Batucadinha believes that music is a powerful tool for connection, belonging, and expression, strengthening family bonds and children's contact with different cultures through rhythm and play.
