Partnerships
In this section, I introduce the artistic groups and projects I'm currently involved in. Each collaboration reflects my work as a singer, percussionist, and educator, joining forces with other artists and collectives to create.
These are ongoing collaborations, happening in the present, in dialogue with my research and artistic practice. Here you'll find projects in which I act as a performer, creator, or musical collaborator, always on the move, connecting with different communities and artistic languages.
Batucada Abrace
Batucada Abrace is a Vancouver-based percussion collective made up largely of Brazilian immigrants and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The group brings the power of Brazilian drums and rhythms to the streets, believing that music and celebration are forms of resistance and community gathering.
Currently, I share the musical direction of Batucada with Paula Faustino, leading weekly rehearsals and performances. In addition to the group's work, this partnership also extends to educational projects, such as Batucadinha – a group dedicated to children that explores Brazilian percussion instruments in a playful way – and the Pandeiro & Voz Workshop, which integrates vocal and rhythmic practice in a space for creative experimentation.

The Amok Project is a Vancouver-based dance company directed by Carol Mendes, dedicated to interdisciplinary artistic creation. I participate in the show "Now Here" alongside Yzadora Dias, contributing to the musical aspect through percussion and singing.
