Doctoral thesis in Arts Education from the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University (SFU)
My doctoral thesis will be an Arts-Based Research (ABR) project, using autobiographical writing, artistic expression, musical composition and vocal performance. The aim is to explore the meanings of voice and singing in education, with an anti-colonial perspective. I will share my journey as a singer and teacher through personal narratives, enriching the analysis with visual and musical compositions. These creative practices will add new dimensions to the discourse, broadening the scope of academic inquiry and promoting a more detailed understanding of the topic.
